Top 10: Highest Earners In The Epl

Top 10: Highest Earners In The Epl Europa League Top 10: Highest Earners In The Epl The summer transfer window prompted a number of marquee additions to the Premier League this season, significantly altering the top ten list of highest earners in England's top-flight in 2014/15.

With Manchester United spending upwards of £150 million on six new signings at Old Trafford, and Louis van Gaal offering at least three of those players lucrative six-figure salaries, it's hardly surprising that the Red Devils are the most heavily featured team when it comes to the richest stars in the division, according to talkSPORT.
They lead the way with four players whilst Chelsea are next in line with three representatives, two of which were lured to Stamford Bridge by Jose Mourinho this summer.
The remainder of the rich list is made up of existing Premier League stars, two from reigning champions Manchester City and one from Arsene Wenger's Arsenal.

10. Mesut Ozil

Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £180k-per-week
The Arsenal playmaker arrived at the Emirates Stadium on deadline day last summer, and despite the recent capture of Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona the German World Cup winner remains the Gunners club-record signing.
As is common with big fees, big wages usually follow, and the former Real Madrid man sneaks onto the top ten list with a weekly salary of £180,000.
Arsene Wenger will be expecting more from the attacking midfielder this season after a relatively modest debut campaign in England's top-flight, and he'll be looking to contribute more goals and assists to prove that he is worth the money.

=8. Eden Hazard & Diego Costa
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £185k-per-week
The Chelsea duo will strike fear into many Premier League defences, with Jose Mourinho hoping the pair will perfectly compliment each other in attack this season.
Costa was brought in from Atletico Madrid in a £32 million deal to help fire the Blues to the title, and Hazard will be looking to build on another impressive campaign at Stamford Bridge with even more goals and assists in 2014/15 in a slightly deeper-lying support role behind the Spain international striker.
It's no surprise that both players are among the highest paid stars in west London, although there is one other team-mate that earns even more than these two. Any guesses who that could be?

=6. Cesc Fabregas
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £200k-per-week
Yep, that's right. The high-profile arrival from Barcelona is now officially Chelsea's highest paid player, and is expected to play an integral role as Jose Mourinho looks to orchestrate a genuine title challenge this year.
Fabregas surprised many when he turned up at Stamford Bridge due to his former ties with London rivals Arsenal, but it later emerged that Arsene Wenger rejected the chance to re-sign the Spain international because of the wealth of midfield talent already at the Emirates.
Gunners fans were still disappointed to see their former captain in a Blues shirt, and will be even more hurt if the joint-sixth highest earner in the division is seen lifting a trophy with another club next May.

=6. Angel Di Maria
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £200k-per-week
Manchester United broke the British transfer record to sign Argentine winger Angel di Maria from Real Madrid this summer, so they were obviously going to pay him huge wages as well.
The £59.7 million star earns the same as Cesc Fabregas and will pocket a mouthwatering £200,000-a-week at Old Trafford after being convinced by Louis van Gaal to move to England.
Red Devils fans will be hoping the World Cup finalist has a significant impact as the club look for an upturn in fortunes following last year's disappointing seventh place finish.

5. Sergio Aguero
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £225k-per-week
The Manchester City striker is one of the most lethal marksman in the Premier League and has already made a huge contribution at the Etihad Stadium over the past three years, justifying his £225,000-a-week wages which make him the fifth highest earner in the division.
Injury problems have hampered the Argentina international at the start of this season, allowing him to feature only from the bench so far, but Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping that a full return to fitness will mean he is ready for a starting role in the not too distant future.
Aguero is arguably the Citizens' most influential player, but is not the top earner at the Etihad Stadium with another team-mate ahead of him on the list. Guess who?
4. Yaya Toure
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £240k-per-week
The box-to-box midfielder was instrumental in Manchester City's title winning campaign last term, proving that he's worth every penny of the £240,000-a-week wage that currently makes him the fourth highest paid player in the Premier League.
Toure contributed a number of goals after seemingly perfecting his set-piece prowess in 2013/14 and Manuel Pellegrini will be hoping there is more to come from the Ivory Coast international as the Citizens attempt to retain their domestic crown.
After his low-key performances at the World Cup in Brazil this summer there had been some question marks over Toure's mindset following the recent loss of his brother, but he'll be expected to overcome his personal problems and start delivering on the pitch again soon.

3. Robin van Persie
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £250k-per-week
The Manchester United striker was expected to be Louis van Gaal's main man at Old Trafford this season, having worked closely with the new Red Devils boss during his time in charge of the Holland national team.
However, the arrival of a number of other high-profile signings might well have pushed Van Persie a little further down the pecking order - and not just in terms of positioning - he's also now only the third highest paid star at the club and in the Premier League.
The former Arsenal captain was given an extended break following the World Cup in Brazil, but is now back in contention after the international break and ready to start when Manchester United take on Queens Park Rangers this weekend.

2. Radamel Falcao
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £265k-per-week
The Colombian striker was on such huge wages at AS Monaco that Manchester United were forced to pay the season-long loanee a similarly ridiculous salary that straight away makes him the second highest paid player at Old Trafford and in the Premier League as a whole.
Louis van Gaal convinced Red Devils chiefs to part with £6 million just to loan the prolific marksman for the 2014/15 campaign, and he'll be expected to hit the ground running if he wants to earn himself a permanent transfer to the north west of England.
Falcao was by far and away the biggest deadline day signing in the division, and regardless of which club a fan supports they will be excited to see the player in action in the Premier League this season.

1. Wayne Rooney
Top 10: Highest Earners in the EPL
Wages: £300k-per-week
Despite Falcao's big-money move he's still not the number one earner at Manchester United - that's newly appointed club captain Wayne Rooney who, thanks to the new contract he signed in February this year, is now the highest paid player in the Premier League.
The 28-year-old striker has also succeeded Steven Gerrard as England skipper after being recently confirmed by Three Lions boss Roy Hodgson so it's been a pretty good 12 months for the Old Trafford star, at least on a personal level.
Rooney will now be hoping to improve Manchester United's fortunes under the new guidance of Louis van Gaal, starting with Sunday's home clash against Queens Park Rangers which represents a perfect opportunity for the club to record their first victory of 2014/15.
