Odemwingie netted just past the hour-mark, as he intercepted a cross-field pass from Ahmed Elmohamady before surging forward to hit a left-footed shot from outside the box into the bottom left corner. Hull's Sone Aluko came on in place of Alex Bruce in the 70th minute, but the visitors were unable to find a way back.

Odemwingie has hit a rich vein of form in recent weeks, and has scored five goals in nine games for the Potters since his arrival in January. Stoke are lying 10th on the table with 40 points from 32 games, while Hull are seven points poorer in 14th spot.

Chinedu Obasi was amongst the goals for Schalke 04 as they recorded a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga on Friday night.

Obasi gave the hosts a 16th-minute lead after he skipped through the oppositions defence before rounding the goalkeeper to send in a right-footed shot from a difficult angle into the bottom right corner.

The Nigerian was also instrumental to Schalke's second goal as he sent a through-ball to Huntelaar in the 46th minute, and the Dutchman made no mistake as the blasted the ball past Rune Almenning Jarstein from the centre of the box.

Michael Eneramo scored to help Karabukspor beat Besiktas 1-0 in a Turkish Super Lig game played on Friday night.

The Nigerian scored the only goal of the game in the 90th minute to subject his parent club, who loaned him to 'Kara' in January, to a defeat away from home.

The 28-year-old has now scored four goals in 10 appearances for Karabukspor, while he managed just one goal for Besiktas in four appearances before switching over after finding playing time hard to come by.

Karabukspor, who occupy fifth spot on the Super Lig table with 39 points from 27 games, did not list Joseph Akpala for yesterday's encounter.
